
The Nigerian army has found the vehicle belonging to Idris Alkali, a retired major general who has been missing for weeks.
According to a tweet by the Army, the black Corolla with plate number MUN-670AA was found in a pond in Lafendeg Du community in Jos South area of Plateau state, north-central Nigeria.
“Joint Task Force constituted by COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai comprising officers & soldiers from 3 Div Quick Response Team, Op Safe Haven, @PoliceNG #VIO @Fedfireng, as well as Local Divers have found the vehicle belonging to Maj Gen Alkali RTD at a pond in Lafendeg Du Plateau State,” the Army tweeted on Saturday evening.

After Alkali went missing on September 3, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, had said the circumstances surrounding the disappearance would be unravelled.
