Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby has described his players as “heroes” despite their 1-0 defeat to France at the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
A controversial 79th spot kick by the hosts gave them the lone goal of the encounter meaning the Falcons with just three points, have to wait for results in other group games to know if they will make it to the round of 16 as one of the best losers.
Speaking after the match, Dennerby who was angered by officiating in the match, however, said: “All my players are Heroes.”
Concise News understands that just a year ago, the West Africans were bashed 8-0 at the MMArena in an international friendly by France.
