Nigerian comedian Okey Bakassi has blamed Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi for the team’s defeat to Algeria on Sunday.
A Riyald Mahrez last-kick goal ended the team’s hopes of making it to the final of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
While reacting to the loss, Okey Bakassi congratulated other players but blamed Akpeyi and said the Eagles need a replacement for the Kaizer Chief’s man.
In a video on Instagram, he said: “Congratulations to Super Eagles minus the goalkeeper.
“Maybe we would go to Cotonou in search of another goalkeeper in the next tournament.
“A tokunbo goalkeeper would be better than the one we have now,” he said on Instagram.
